Iryna Fingerova is a physician, journalist and writer from Odesa, Ukraine. Since 2020, she has been living and working as a doctor in Germany. Alongside her medical profession, she writes short stories, novels and essays exploring migration, identity, memory and the consequences of war.

Her work has appeared in Tages-Anzeiger (Zurich), Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin and Die Zeit. She was a finalist for the Floriana Prize 2024. Her text "Hausbesuch" ("House Call") was nominated for the Reporter Prize 2024 after being shortlisted for the Peter Binderer Prize in 2023.

As a member of Plattform Dresden e.V., Iryna Fingerova supports humanitarian initiatives for Ukraine and actively promotes German-Ukrainian cultural exchange.
