eLk × eLk = eLk²
Mathematically speaking, this is the Second ELK Formula. Translated, it means that resonance multiplied by resonance creates a quadratic body of sound. Vibrations move out of this body and back into it. The voices of some, carried through the ears of others, set one thing or another in between into motion. From a physical perspective, ELK² is therefore a body, and ELK vibrations are its audible movements.
In the end, however, physics is nothing more than another form of literature. At least that's how analytical imagination sees it—and analytical imagination is what governs ELK. These governing principles, in turn, can be translated as follows.
If ELK were purely biological—say, a plant—it would be a climbing plant, growing wherever it pleases, happiest when the sun is shining. If ELK were an animal, it would probably be an octopus: independently thinking tentacles, full of points of contact, with plenty of ink behind them. And if ELK were a person, they would have multiple personalities, each with its own biography, and be perfectly at ease with it.
If ELK had emerged from a cultural practice, it might be a piece of clothing—a tailor-made pair of silk sweatpants: exceptionally comfortable, remarkably elegant, and allowing complete freedom of movement. If it were a culinary tradition, it would be international gourmet cuisine served in delightful small bites—rich and indulgent, yet somehow incredibly healthy. And if it could be drunk, I would be very thirsty right now. And if ELK itself were a text, it would be handwritten.
Perhaps the evolution from ELK to ELK² resonates somewhere in between all of this. Seen that way, the ELK body of sound is a loudspeaker equipped with a translation function, through which a thirsty person in sweatpants, with many faces and the sun at their back, writes, reads, hears, and translates one text after another according to its own rules. And now it is your turn to shape that resonance across Europe—to keep your eyes and ears open for whatever is moving.
